Krista Hobbs joined HOAF in 2019, after working as a certified Physician Assistant in a Fredericksburg-area urgent care center. There, she assessed and treated patients with a full range of acute and chronic illnesses – and she became familiar with the people in her newfound home here in Virginia. Prior to her move, Krista was a resident of Boise, Idaho. In her years in Idaho, she worked as a Physician Assistant Student at Saint Alphonsus Gynecology/Oncology, honing her skills in patient care and education. Before joining Saint Alphonsus, Krista was a Physician Assistant Student at Portneuf Cancer Center in Pocatello, Idaho, where she was immersed in all areas of cancer care, from interpreting lab studies and images, to evaluating treatment responses, to patient education.
Krista earned a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelor’s in Anthropology at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Here at HOAF, she applies her full range of skills with both medical expertise and compassion, helping to evaluate patients, review test results, and guide patients through every challenge in the cancer treatment process. She’s very active in the local Fredericksburg chapter of the Virginia Association of Physician Assistants, and she continues to pursue a special interest in evidence-based practice.
