What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care is an extra layer of support as you go through treatment for advanced cancer, provided by a nurse practitioner certified in this service.

Our palliative care services are provided in our Fredericksburg and Stafford offices. Studies have shown that patients who receive palliative care in conjunction with cancer treatment have an improved quality of life and live longer.

Services include:

• Pain management
• Symptom management
• Advance Care Planning
• Psychosocial support in adjusting to diagnosis for both patient and family
• Referral to local resources
